since you asked me, i’ll ask you the same question: “Name five films that are most influential to your filmmaking style.”
Oh lord. I shoulda seen this coming and yet I didn’t. And now I have to scramble…I haven’t made a lot of movies, actually. So I’m not sure if I have a style. I’ll answer in terms of films that influenced me to want to make my own, whether it’s for their writing, cinematography, or otherwise. In no particular order:
Rocky Horror Picture Show
Halloween
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Clerks
Evil Dead
Shock surprise, mostly horror.
